Acecook, a Vietnamese company with a line of instant ramen noodles named ‘Good’, produces instant rice noodles named ‘Phnom Penh Style’ which NRG was keen to add to her Localised Collection.
Phnom Penh street rice noodle soup normally features minced pork, pork liver, egg (preferably quail), shrimp, garlic, shallots, chilli, all in a broth seasoned with pepper, salt and fish sauce.
Despite the picture on the packet, no animals were harmed in the making of this Good instant rice noodles, as it’s comprised of mostly of rice noodles, dehydrated vegetables and flavouring. These noodles aren’t great, or delicious or even authentic Phnom Penh style. As the name states, they are just ‘good’. Handy to keep in your cupboard for a quick snack, and fun to draw.
